Berks Nature owns and manages over 1,300 acres of public land for wildlife habitat and recreation...with so much to explore, there's always something new to discover! Visit and explore the trails that trace this expanse of green space during our monthly series: Hike the Preserves!
In November, join us at the Ephraim Malickson Wildlife Sanctuary, a calm and lightly traveled preserve known for its easy trail loops, wetlands, and young forest habitat. We'll walk a shaded trail and immerse oursevles in a rich and open understory ripe for observation and discovery. If you attend the full Hike the Preserves series, you'll be able to compare the sights, plantlife, and seasonal snapshot of Malickson Sanctuary with our other preserves! With each hike, you'll build a growing understanding of Berks County's diverse landscape and its ability to support varied wildlife, hold water, and create space for people to explore. This hike is best suited for adults.
Registration for this program (and series) is per car rather than per person. Carpooling is always recommended since parking can be limited at some preserves.
This is a relaxed and curious hike suited for adults who enjoy exploring nature at a steady pace while learning more about the places that make up our local preserve network.
Registration closes November 19th
