The Nature Place 575 St. Bernardine Street Reading, PA 19607
Wednesday, November 11, 2026 from 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM
Grab your troop and pick up a pencil on this journey of exploration, observation, and reflection. The act of nature journaling fosters new awareness and connection with the wild world around us. During this program for Cub and Girl Scouts, we'll review what makes a good field note before heading outside to practice mindful looking, sketching, and writing as we take in the sights and sounds of the changing season. Slow down, explore carefully, and observe the natural world in a new way. All journals, pencils, and supplies are provided.
This program supports badge work by encouraging patience, curiosity, and reflection while strengthening the observation skills used by naturalists and field scientists. The following badges are supported by this curriculum:
- Cub Scouts: Paws on the Path, Outdoor Adventurer
- Girl Scouts: Outdoor Art Maker, Get Into Natur
Registration closes November 9th
