Friday, October 9, 2026 from 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM
Fireplace Fridays are the best way to unwind after a busy week and learn something new that's good for the soul and good for the planet. Gather round our hearth, kick back with a drink, and soak in the Friday vibes of a crackling fire shared with friends.
This month, we'll explore easy-to-use tools such as iNaturalist, eBird, and iMap Invasives which anyone can use to help scientists track wildlife, plants, weather, and more! Apps like these have made community science more accessible than ever by turning everyday nature sightings into research-quality data. During this relaxed session we'll help you troubleshoot and learn these platforms while creating space to ask questions and practice among your fellow nature lovers. So settle in with us for a night of light conversation, warm fire, and a crash course in the new tech that's made it simple to get involved in science all year round.
This program is meant for adults (18+). Please bring your own chair and dress appropriately for a fully outdoor experience!
Please note, end times are approximate.
Registration closes October 7th.
