The Colors of Birds: What Colors Mean and How Birds Hide in Plain Sight

Nature has many colors and the animals that live in nature also come in many colors. How do birds live their lives without sticking out to predators, prey, or humans? Why would a cardinal be bright red when the trees around it are filled with green? Exploring what makes birds certain colors and how birds can use color to protect themselves from predators or hide themselves from prey can teach us a lot about the world around us. We will discuss how to find birds that are trying to hide and how they get to be all of the colors of the rainbow through food, genetics, and the passage of time. Hands-on activities and tests of sight and sound will be included!

Berks Nature will be providing light drinks and refreshments.

Please note, end times are approximate.
